The UN report on Tunisia confirms in black and white the criminality and direct complicity in human rights violations of the Italy-Tunisia and EU-Tunisia pacts, which provide the Said regime with money and resources to commit atrocities against people on the move.
The report states: 'Systematic violence and abuse against migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees, including women and children, is being perpetrated and documented, including violations of the right to life, including in the context of interceptions at sea'.
The UN Rapporteur is concerned that Tunisian ports can be considered a safe haven for people rescued at sea. Moreover, the evidence shows that the whole country is the scene of discrimination, the deportation of refugees and migrants to the desert, and the criminalisation of the activities of human rights defenders.
When will someone in parliament raise the question of whether the financing of the Tunisian government's criminal activities is constitutional or not? Is there anyone in the judiciary who has the courage to open a case against the Italian government for complicity in crimes against humanity committed systematically, with money and resources provided by Italy, against thousands of people on the move?
