Save a life, save the world
let's rescue humanity together,
support our missions in the Mediterranean
Ahead of the Africa Counter Summit, to be held tomorrow at 12 noon at Spin Time Labs, we offer some insights into the current situation in Tunisia and the agreements the European Union has made with the Tunisian dictator Saied.
This is the perfect example of how the European Union conceives its relations with African countries, both those bordering the Mediterranean and the sub-Saharan ones: economic, political and military support to authoritarian governments that systematically violate human rights in exchange for measures to externalise borders, which place more and more obstacles in the way of people on the move, and free access to natural resources so that they can be exploited in a context of neo-colonial relations.
While just a few kilometres away Giorgia Meloni will try to strengthen these relations by meeting with various African Heads of State, we will be at Spin Time Labs to hear testimonies and discuss with many activists and political refugees from various African countries to try to unhinge this inhuman and racist system.

Then we have the communiqué, signed by various organisations involved in the defence of human rights both in Tunisia and in Europe, calling on the European Union and international organisations to put an end to friendly relations with the Saied regime, which violates the rights of migrants and Tunisian citizensə.
The third document is the position statement of Tavolo Asilo e Immigrazione, which contests the Italian government's policy of supporting Kaiss Saied and the Tunisian Coast Guard, the protagonist of illegal rejections and various acts of violence against migrants
We publish the open letter of several European and African NGOs to Prime Minister Meloni, Senate President La Russa and Chamber President Fontana in view of the MENA and Migration International Conference to be held tomorrow in Rome.
We invite you to participate on Saturday 29 July, at the Tunisian Consulate in Milan, in the 'Justice for Fati Dosso and Marie' demonstration to demand truth and justice for all the victims of the deportation in the desert between Libya and Tunisia.
