Save a life, save the world
let's rescue humanity together,
support our missions in the Mediterranean
Following the barbaric raid by the Libyan police on asylum seekers and refugees in the #Gargaresh neighbourhood, several thousand people have formed 'Refugees in Libya', an unprecedented experience of self-organisation and struggle.
Their permanent garrison in front of the UNHCR headquarters in Tripoli has been going on and growing for almost a month: they demand the immediate evacuation of all migrants, refugees and asylum seekers from Tripoli, and they demand rights and dignity!
Mediterranea Saving Humans and Amnesty International Italy organised a virtual press conference to give a voice to the 'Refugees in Libya'.
David (24, South Sudan) and Magit (25, Senegal) told and showed the whole world the unacceptable living conditions of thousands of women, men and children: the poor hygiene, the difficulties in collecting food, the fear of possible attacks by the police forces, the tension and grief over the disappearance of a young boy killed by a hit-and-run driver.
We need immediate and safe evacuation for all those in danger! Italy, the European Union and the whole world must listen to this cry for help!
There is no time to lose!
