Save a life, save the world
let's rescue humanity together,
support our missions in the Mediterranean
On Sunday 13 October, from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., in the social centre 'Làbas' in Bologna (vicolo Bolognetti n.2), the national assembly 'NO CPR' will take place, promoted by dozens of civil society realities. Faced with a government that wants to open new CPRs in our territories ('at least one in each region' is the government's diktat) and even export them to Albania, the aim of this assembly is to network in order to fight for the closure of all CPRs and to oppose all forms of administrative detention, highlighting the systematic violations of human rights that take place in these places and that are denounced daily by the detainees. It is precisely the latter who, with the approval of Bill 1660, risk up to eight years in prison for mere acts of "passive resistance" in the CPRs. A criminogenic norm aimed at silencing the protests that take place in these centres against the despicable conditions of detention. During the meeting of 13 October, we will discuss how to create an opposition to the will of the Italian government to be more and more the pioneer in Europe of the model of externalisation of the borders. With the strengthening and resurgence of the extreme right in almost all European countries, the CPRs are and will increasingly become the backwaters of this century, where people with a migrant background are treated like commodities to be disposed of.
