Save a life, save the world
let's rescue humanity together,
support our missions in the Mediterranean
No more celebrating the violation of the Geneva Convention. No more systematic human rights violations. The Italian government has announced, with pomp and circumstance, the delivery of a new vehicle with which the so-called and notorious 'Libyan Coast Guard' will be able to capture and deport women, men and children trying to escape by sea from the hell of the Libyan Lagers. On the day when more terrible news of death will arrive from the Mediterranean, which has become the largest mass grave on the planet, a 'ceremony' will be announced, with Italian and Libyan ministers, to sanctify what is now an established criminal practice: the violation of the Geneva Convention on Refugees and Refugeesə. A violation carried out by those militias that are grossly misrepresented as 'saviours' by our institutions, which receive hundreds of millions of euros for the dirty work of detaining 'at any cost and by any means' people seeking asylum in Europe.
Libya, which is not even a state but a fragmented country torn apart by gang warfare, cannot carry out 'rescue operations' because it is not a 'POS' (place of safety) for people caught at sea. The violent operations financed by Italy and Europe are in fact those of an illegitimate and illegal 'border police', with total disregard for the fate of innocent people.
We will be in front of these sites on Monday 6 February: let the government officials not try to prevent a glimpse of the truth about one of the shames of the century from breaking through the hypocrisy.
We give an appointment to all the activists, the social realities of the area and the information workers at 15.00 in the square in front of the 'Vittoria' construction sites in Adria.
