Save a life, save the world
let's rescue humanity together,
support our missions in the Mediterranean
Mediterranea was born, as we know, to save lives at sea.
We see this as a duty, but also as our small contribution to a larger struggle, the struggle against the border regime and for freedom of movement, the struggle against the violence of the military apparatus and for the right to life.
We also asked the Tavola Valdese to help us to continue the surveillance, observation, search and rescue missions of the Mare Jonio in the central Mediterranean. We did this in order to continue to contribute, together with the other ships of the Civil Fleet, to saving the lives of those crossing the sea fleeing from Libya and Tunisia, but also to witness and denounce the systematic violations of fundamental human rights that are taking place there.
These practices, as we know, annoy those who see Europe as a fortress to be defended with a moat, those who want to "manage" the migratory flows through unspeakable agreements with the authorities that control the coasts of North Africa, without caring about the violations of human rights. In this case, it does so by supporting us, while not ceasing to directly implement and support the creation of humanitarian corridors, the development of projects of solidarity, dignity and redemption for refugees and migrants, and international cooperation networks.
Thank you for helping us to be at sea!
