Save a life, save the world
let's rescue humanity together,
support our missions in the Mediterranean
Five years and two months have passed since I discovered, in the spring of 2019, that on 2 July 2018 Italy had secretly carried out a gigantic illegal deportation of men, women and children to Libyan lagers. I wrote about it in this blog. I started to investigate. I set up the JLProject collective to investigate further.
The Josi & Loni Project is named after Josi, a boy who died on the floor of the Libyan camp in Zintan after being deported, and Loni, a baby who was born on the floor of the camp in Trik al Sikka. On 2 July 2018, Loni was still in his mother's womb, today he is five years old and has won his case against those who deported his parents and gave birth to him in hell. In the judgement it is well described how his father was whipped because he did not want to be separated from his mother.
The Court of Rome condemned:
- the Prime Minister's Office (Conte I government)
- the Ministry of Defence, then headed by Elisabetta Trenta
- Toninelli's Ministry of Transport
- Captain Corrado Pagani of Asso Ventinove
- the shipping company Augusta Offshore
They were ordered to immediately pay 15,000 euros to each of the five refugees who brought the case. The judgment is enforceable.
