A Bordo! #1 Neaples, 1st-4th September 2022

In the magnificent setting of the Maschio Angioino, one of the symbolic monuments of the city of Naples, the first edition of A Bordo! The Festival of Mediterranea Saving Humans. Frontiers, reception, criminalisation of solidarity and civil rescue at sea were just some of the topics covered during the workshops and evening debates with distinguished guests that animated the Maschio Angioino from morning until dinnertime.

After dinner, many artists made us dance and sing, lending their talents to help Mediterranea raise resources to continue its missions on land and sea.

On Saturday 3 September, we then decided to leave the Maschio Angioino and march to Piazza del Plebiscito to loudly and clearly reaffirm our NO to the Italy-Libya Memorandum which, with the approval of the European Union, supports and finances human traffickers who violate the human rights of migrants in Libya on a daily basis.

The last act of the Festival was the Assembly, where the members, in presence and remotely, summarised and assessed Mediterranea's activities in 2022. They also looked to the future, with proposals, reflections and new projects and the election of the Board of Directors, which will remain in office until 2024.
